The visceral abandon with which Guo attacks a given piece of music,
regardless of genre, can be breath-taking; you likely have heard her ubiquitous, mellifluous cello lines without realizing it. Tina’s playing is everywhere–infusing soundtracks from popular films Wonder Woman, Pirates of the Caribbean V, Batman vs. Superman, Inception, etc.; in commercials for Mazda and United Airlines; in bestselling video games and with top classical orchestras worldwide.
She has worked onstage and in-studio with the likes of Peter Gabriel,
Al DiMeola, Joe Bonamassa, Ariana Grande, Carlos Santana and many others, earning multiple Grammy Award nominations including a 2017 nod in the category of Best New Age Album for Inner Passion with pianist Peter Kater.
Guo was featured soloist with Cirque de Soleil and stars in film score composer-producer Hans Zimmer’s symphonic live act.
Her solo discography comprises independently released crossover works Autumn Winds (2007), The Journey (2011), Eternity (2013), Ray of Light (2014), Cello Metal (2015) and Hollywood’s Greatest Themes (2016). She recently signed an exclusive four-album deal with Sony Masterworks, recording amped-up symphonic versions of hit video game themes for new release Game On! featuring more than 100 guest artists, including the Budapest Symphony.
Guo holds a Bachelor’s in metaphysical theology and authored Event Horizons of Yin and Yang, a collection of philosophical prose and poetry. At age 31, she already has done it all … almost.
